Many have approached our prosperity teachings primarily as a path to financial or professional success. Yet a careful rereading of Prosperity, Unity co-founder Charles Fillmore’s book on the subject, reveals a far more expansive vision. Fillmore speaks of the “purification of commerce, society, and government,” noting that an excessive focus on material gain can actually obstruct this deeper work.
True prosperity, he teaches, is not rooted in external conditions but in inner alignment with our divine nature. The same spiritual principles we have applied to material well-being can also generate peace, justice, and equity for all.
When we are centered in the fullest expression of our divinity, generosity naturally flows through thought, word, and deed. We bring light into conversations, love into relationships, and discernment into decisions. Our actions arise not from fear or reactivity, but from trust in the infinite goodness moving within and through us.
So when outer conditions challenge your confidence or clarity, choose courage over fear, generosity over scarcity, and love over indifference. Allow the indwelling divine Presence to shape your responses to what is unfolding in our world. Let your prosperity consciousness rise beyond material measures and actively participate in the healing of hearts, communities, and the systems we are called to renew.
