Unity is a positive and progressive approach to spirituality based on the teachings of Jesus and the power of prayer. Unity honors the universal truths in all religions and respects each individual's right to choose a spiritual path.

Welcome to UNS
Wherever you are in your spiritual evolution, you're welcome to join our tribe of seekers in our common desire to deepen our connection to spirit.

We extend a special welcome to those who are single, married, divorced, or gay … if you can sing like an angel or can’t carry a tune ... if you’re just browsing or if you just woke up … if you’re over 60 but not grown up, or a teenager who is growing up too fast … if you’re having problems, are down in the dumps, or if you don’t like “organized religion” (we’ve been there, too) … if you can’t get a job … if you’re inked, pierced, or both … if you could use a prayer right now, or you had religion shoved down your throat as a kid … if you’re a tourist, seeker, doubter, or bleeding heart … we give you our warmest, open-hearted welcome!

Book Sale Fundraiser

Words of Wisdom is a beautifully bound, 94-page book compiled of essays and artwork from UNS congregants. This book grew out of a series of Micro Memoirs classes taught by Sharon Meyers, as a way to help elders in our community to connect and thrive during the isolation they experienced during the Covid pandemic. In these essays, members of our UNS family bravely share their struggles, strife, and life stories for us to learn and grow from reading. Each book is $25, and will be available for pick-up in person at UNS.

This book and project was recently highlighted in the new Unity booklet, "Creating Community As We Age." The article by Rev. Christine Garza, "Sharing Micro-Memoirs" is page 23-25. You can download or order a free copy of the booklet by clicking here.

Many Paths One Source
An Interfaith Exploration Series

Join us on an experiential journey into the wisdom of six of the world's spiritual traditions. The series includes guest speakers at our Sunday services from the Hindu, Sikh, Islam, Jewish, Buddhist, and Indigenous American traditions, as well as visits to their sacred sites in the Chicagoland area. Our aim is to deepen comprehension of other belief systems, clarify and strengthen our Unity convictions, and create understanding that transcends religious boundaries. Together, we're equipping ourselves to be a presence of love and light in the face of difference and division.
