Rhythm of Life Has a New Beat

By Rev. Kurt Condra

The rhythm of our lives (work schedules, sleep patterns; prayer-, play- and even meal-times) has been massively disrupted. Like an orchestra tuning up before a performance, our days seem random, unstructured and cacophonous. Best case, we experience it as dissonance; worst case, it can be maddeningly grating, even debilitating. But just as with an orchestra, this dissonance is necessary as we realign to the divine energy that is the source of all order and harmony.

So how do we re-tune our lives?

Ecclesiastes' instructs, "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens..." For me, it suggests we look beyond worldly conditions to the rhythms that form the universe. As we marvel at the power guiding the trajectory of galaxies, shaping planetary orbits, and lighting suns, moons and stars, we are reminded that the same power resounds within us, too. However chaotic our world now seems, our truest state of being, our spiritual identity, is now (and always will be) attuned to The Infinite.
