Sacred Activism Group

We continue our conversation around expanding our vision to serve the wider community.  Anyone interested is invited to meet for about an hour to discern what is ours to do, using Unity principles to address challenges our country and world now face.

Spiritual Healer, Dr. Saul Shaye
Workshop: "A Healer's Odyssey"  Sunday, August 13, 12 - 3 pm    $30
Private Healing Sessions:  Monday, August 14, by appointment     $50

In the workshop, Dr. Shaye presents the story of his own spiritual transformation from atheist to spiritual healer.  Volunteers are used to demonstrate this healing gift while chronologically showing its unfolding.  Some participants have seen a golden stream of light radiating from Dr. Shaye's hands as he works.  Sign up in the Atrium.  For private sessions, please sign up in the Atrium or contact Kate in the Church Office at 847-864-8977 to schedule an appointment.

Italian Supper Fundraiser Dinner
Saturday, August 19, 6 pm
The Board of Trustees and Unity Choir cordially invite you, your friends, and family to enjoy a hearty Italian spread featuring pasta, salad, meatballs, and sausages.  (Vegetarian and Gluten-Free options available.)  We'll celebrate our commitment to financial freedom while raising income for UNS programs.  A "responsible giving" love offering will be received.
 
Annual Potluck Picnic
Sunday, August 27, after service
Our end-of-the-summer shindig!  We provide hamburgers, veggie burgers, and hot dogs.  You sign up to bring buns, salads, sides, desserts, chips, or drinks; along with your appetite and a fun, party state of mind!  There will be games and prizes for the kids, and lots of good food and fun ... you won't want to miss it!  Look for the sign-up sheets in July or call the Church Office.

Spiritual Citizens' Soul~Lift
Last Thursday of each month, 7 pm
A monthly evening of spiritual renewal and inspiration for anyone who's wearied by the divisive energies that characterize current political and social discourse.  The program facilitated small-group discussion; and a time of meditation and prayer.  For those who wish to network, there will be a time afterward to support social actions underway, share about initiatives to join, and connect with other Spiritual Citizens interested in similar causes.

Fifth Sunday Potluck Fellowship
The 5th Sundays of the year: July 30, October 29, December 31 
We invite our congregants to bring in a dish, salad, or dessert to share during our time of fellowship after service.  No sign-up necessary; we'll remind you the Sunday before, and just bring whatever you'd like!  Homemade or store-bought, it's up to you!  In the interest of serving others, please plan to pitch in with either set-up or clean-up.

A Course in Miracles is a spiritual path that helps to remove the blocks that keep one from experiencing God's Love. The Course teaches how to heal our relationships with self and others through practicing its unique method of forgiveness. As a result of practicing forgiveness with the guidance of their Internal Teacher, participants expect to experience more peace in their lives and are led to an ever-deepening understanding of the Course's principles.
