Mindfulness & Meditation Practices – SPD 105

How can I use the meditation process of training my mind to focus and redirect my thoughts?  Can meditation increase my awareness of myself and my surroundings and help me reduce stress and develop concentration.  Will mindfulness techniques, including meditation help calm my wandering mind and allow me to experience greater clarity, especially during these times of uncertainty?

That is essentially the true goal of meditation: to tune our minds away from the cluttered thoughts that occupies our mind and get in synch with our inner conscience. The goal of any mindfulness technique is to achieve a state of alert, focused relaxation by deliberately paying attention to thoughts and sensations without judgment, in all of our everyday activities. 

We will refocus on the present moment and in the process develop a deeper awareness of ourselves as well as everything around us.
